Abstract Paintings - Mid July - Mid August

Here's the latest batch of paintings from the big wall in my studio. I followed up the first painting here, Jest, with a series of smaller paintings, thinking that because they were smaller, they would take less time. Like some things in life, expectations are dashed when confronted with reality. The smaller paintings by enlarge, take just as long as the larger ones. So it goes. Still trying to find order in the unfettered chaos of spontaneous mark making.
Jest - acrylic on canvas - 23.5"H × 34"W - more info
This painting makes me smile.

Tupelo - acrylic on canvas - 17"W × 25"H - more info

Array - acrylic on canvas - 17"H × 25"W - more info
This painting has an antique quality. Maybe it's the limited palette. It reminds me of old tools hanging on a shed wall.

Junco - acrylic on canvas - 18"H × 25"W - more info
Nervous, tight marks that have a structural quality.
Glade - acrylic on canvas - 17"W × 25.5"H - more info
